OMG! She was amazing. OMG, she is so talented. OMG, what a great performance! OMG great music choices. OMG.....STOP.MAKING.EVERYTHING.POLITICAL.
I know over the last few days many social media sites are talking about Lady GAGA’s political stunts during the Super Bowl halftime show.
REALLY? Do we really is that what you saw...a political message. WHY do we need to make everything so political? PEOPLE...it is becoming obsessive!
What I saw was a patriotic beginning and a monster fan show after that. I didn’t see or hear a single word from her that was anything but American. However, she did have the stage and certainly could have used it for a political message if she had wanted to.
But you say: “she sang “This Land is My Land”…that was a political jab! But she dropped the mik afterwards, another political jab. OFFENSIVE!"
SO? So what?
Here is the way I see it: Like her or not, she is a superstar and has hits (which she sang) from many years before this because they asked her to. Like her or not, she had the giant stage…and deservedly so. Like it or not….she did the halftime show.
I just don’t really get it.
If you didn’t like the show, or you just don’t like Lady GAGA….. just say that. Why do you have to wage a political social war to justify to yourself or others that you don’t like her.
Why do so many people think that after one half time show, your political opinions have been insulted because she sang a song that you are certain (I’m just now sure how you can be certain) had a hidden political agenda?
And besides…it isn’t a surprise or secret that Lady GAGA doesn’t like Trump. But to make her performance about politics just so you have a reason to say you didn’t like it seems really silly to me.
I guess my questions are these: Why have we decided that anyone has the power over us to tell us what to think or feel? Why do we think when one person sings a song, or states an opinion it is a personal insult to us? I am all for trying to stay out of the cross fires of words and thoughts you don’t like or agree with…but then change the channel or turn off the TV. Get off social media or take a news break.
At the end of the day…you should be in control of you. And if you aren’t…then don’t blame it on Lady GAGA.
